Fort Chipewyan Community High School (FCCHS) is a collaborative educational option conceived by Mikisew Cree First Nation, Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation, and the Fort Chipewyan Metis. FCCHS offers education to students in Grade 9 to 12; and is open to all ages, including adults. Incorporating community and land-based learning with the Alberta Program of Studies education format, FCCHS promotes a hands-on approach that encourages independence in learning. Alongside academic module work, FCCHS also incorporates cultural practices such as trapping, hunting, beadwork, sewing and Cree/Dene courses led by community members and esteemed Elders.
We are currently looking to hire a Youth Program Coordinator who will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating culturally relevant programming for our students 14 years and older!
This position is located in Fort Chipewyan, Alberta.
