Mikisew Cree First Nation – Government and Industry Relations Overview
The Government Industry Relations (GIR) is a department of the Mikisew Cree First Nation (MCFN), located in Fort McMurray, Alberta. The GIR is directed by the MCFN Leadership and acts as a liaison between resource developers, operators, government agencies and the community.
Community Engagement – GIR
The Community Engagement position is responsible for the organization-wide management of Community Engagement, including grassroots outreach and relationship building.
Under the supervision of the Director, they will oversee the development and implementation of the organization’s community outreach, communications and engagement plan, ensuring that the organizations presence and support are strongly felt in the MCFN community. The CEM will work closely with the GIR Director and leadership team to identify, manage and build partnerships and relationships with the community, peer organizations and internal MCFN departments.
This position may be assigned other duties as necessary, including supporting leadership team in activities such as advocacy and event planning.
